Private client, Twickenham

Overview

Home theatre system with 5.1 surround sound speaker system and all source equipment and cables hidden and controlled by a single hand held remote.

Brief

Our clients had a young family and wanted a home cinema system which was easy for all of their family to use. They already had a Sky HD box already and they wanted their equipment to be remote located out of site and for all the equipment on show to be minimal. They were planning to decorate after the installation.

Budget

Approx £5,000 - £8,000*

Solution

There was enough room between their living room wall and their sofas to comfortably watch a 50" screen and with the room layout, the ideal position was above their fireplace which luckily was a non-working one. (We wouldn't nomally advise installing a TV above a working fire place). Cabling was chased behind their stud walls and into the concrete floor below and then taken through the wall to reach the understair cupboard - to reach their remote located equipment. Their equipment was installed in a rack to keep it organised. We programmed a (very user-friendly) MX3000 Universal control to allow their young children to be able to control the system easily.

The main products used in this installation included:

Living room

  • Pioneer 50" plasma TV
  • Bose 5.1 surround sound system
  • Universal Remote control MX3000 & cradle

Remote located cupboard

  • Middle Atlantic rack
  • Sky HD player
  • Denon AV receiver
  • Pioneer DVD player
