Overview

Home cinema with Opus multi-room audio video system in a three bedroomed Victorian House

Brief

Our clients tried out a friend’s home cinema and multi-room AV system during a weekend stay with them and were impressed by its easy-to-use functionality and convenience.

They wanted a similar system with hidden wires that enabled them to watch video in five rooms (including High Definition (HD) in the lounge) and listen to music in the sixth. They also wanted somewhere to store their music and DVD collection and to create a party zone in their living room for entertaining guests.

They waited until they moved into their new home, where they had planned to re-decorate and we installed a system before they started.

Solution

We installed an Opus 500 four zone, six source system which allowed them to watch video (TV, Sky, DVDs) in the living room and three bedrooms. Repeaters were run from the living room into the kitchen for TV and from the master bedroom to its on-suite bathroom.

We installed a 7.1 satellite speaker system in their living area and positioned speakers in the far corners of the room. An HD connection was also added to the lounge so that HDTV could be watched.

All wiring was chased into the walls and the source equipment was remote located beneath the stairs.
