Frequently asked questions
Q. How disruptive is an installation?
A. It depends whether the installation is wired or wireless. A wired installation, particularly if there are brick walls to channel through (rather than cavity walls which are easier) tends to be the most disruptive which is why we recommend getting a wired installation prior to decorating. In contrast a wireless installation involves very little disruption. Which ever one you choose, we'll do our best to keep any disruption to a minimum.
Q. Can I use my own electrician to install the cables?
A. Yes absolutely, we're happy to design a system for you and to supply wiring diagrams to your electrician. The cost of the diagrams will depend on the complexity of the system we're designing for you.
Q. How long will an installation take?
A. The time taken varies enormously and depends on how complex the system is to install. As a rough guide, to install four zone, wired multi-room system in an average three bedroomed house could take approx 4 - 8 days. We will be able to advice on individual installations at the time of consultation.
Q. How much will it cost?
A. It depends on your budget. Simply tell us how much you’d like to spend and we'll suggest some different systems to work within it. If you're not sure on your budget but know the kind of spec you want, we can talk you through a range of low, medium or high spec systems to help you decide.
Q. How future-proof are your systems?
A. If we're designing and installing a system from the beginning, we can ensure that the cabling we install is adequate to make your system upgradeable in the future. We’ll advise you on options during your consultation.
Q. Can I upgrade my existing system?
A. We would have to see your existing system first to be able to advise. The best place to start is to call us for a chat about it.
Q. I'm having problems with my existing multi-room / home cinema / lighting system, will you repair it?
A. It's usually best, in the first instance, to contact the company who installed your system in the first place but if that's not possible, get in touch with us and we'll let you know if it's something we can help with.
Q. What if I have problems with any of the equipment?
A. All of our products are supplied with manufacturers' warranties and in the unlikely event that you experience problems with your equipment when it's under warranty, we'll organise for it's repair or replacement.
Q. How long is your work guaranteed for?
A. Our work is guaranteed for 12 months and during that period, in the unlikely event that you do experience problems with work that we've undertaken, we'll fix it free of charge.*
